Dr. Paulos is the co-owner of ARCH Dental + Aesthetics with Dr. Yusef. Raised in Victoria, BC, he was inspired early on by his father, Dr. Kostadino Paulos, whose holistic approach to dentistry emphasized the vital connection between oral health and overall well-being.
After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria, Dr. Paulos spent a year working as his father’s chairside assistant. This hands-on experience allowed him to witness the transformative effects of holistic dental care, particularly the profound improvements in overall health that patients experienced following the removal of infected teeth and surrounding tissue. These insights solidified his passion for dentistry and motivated him to pursue advanced training in dental surgery.
In addition to his surgical focus, Dr. Paulos developed a strong interest in implant dentistry, recognizing how implants not only restore function and esthetics but also contribute to long-term health and quality of life. This led him to pursue advanced education in implant placement and regenerative techniques, further shaping the direction of his practice.
Dr. Sam Paulos received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2011. He received awards in Dental Occlusion and Anatomy. After three years of general practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he returned to British Columbia to join Dr. Ara Elmajian and pursue his passion with a holistic approach to Dental Surgery.
Dr. Paulos received diplomas from Loma Linda University and the gIDE Institute for completing a one-year Master’s program in Implant Dentistry. He learned the latest techniques in bone and soft tissue regeneration and implant placement under the preceptorship of Dr. Sascha Jovanovic.
Dr. Paulos focuses his practice on surgical treatments, including complicated extractions, wisdom teeth removal, bone and soft tissue grafting, sinus augmentation, and zirconia and titanium implant placement. He utilizes 3D CT Scans and similar technology to diagnose, plan, and treat his patients from a holistic perspective with biocompatible materials to achieve harmony in biology, structure, function, and aesthetics.
